The temps are supposed to get down around 16 degrees tonight
and I figured even the garage kitties would be cold. I have a lot of beds for
them including padded kitty caves and one inside a dog crate but lately, they
like sleeping on the big fluffy pillow against the wall between the garage and
the house. It’s probably warmer because it’s an interior wall.
So I made them a little fleece-lined bed in a box. I taped fleece around the inside of the box
and put an old cat bed on the bottom. On top of that, I put a thermal cat bed,
which is supposed to warm back up from body heat. I put it on a shelf and
covered it with an old rug to kind of insulate it.
I only put it out an hour ago and Midnight has made herself
comfy. It’s not large but since they snuggle all the time, it’s plenty big and
if they both go in at the same time, there won’t be a lot of extra space for
cold air to circulate. Hopefully, Charley will crawl in before the night is over.
