Beasley walked out the door by herself this morning. I stood
outside and coaxed her but she finally came out. Or I should say jumped out. She hopped over it like it was going
to reach up and grab her by the belly.
I don’t know what it is about the threshold but it scares her.
She’s been going out in the yard all on her own for about a
week and a half unless there's a "scary" noise. I just unhook the leash once we go outside and she does
her little counter clockwise circle around the yard and if she doesn’t go, I
tell her to go back and there she goes again counter clockwise. But she has ventured a few feet out in the
yard to smell on occasion and she comes back in now without hiding behind the
table on the deck now.
My handyman was over the other day and so I decided to bring her out of her comfort zone (under the bed) just so that she can learn she will still be safe if someone else is in the house. She peed all over the floor as I was walking her by him in the kitchen. So I took her out, she came back in and darted back under the bed again. But we are making progress.
