TRYING TO MAKE THE BED

Most days I give up.  It’s all I can do to get the covers pulled up to the pillows.  Aaahh!  For the love of my Kritters.  Just lots of laundry, dusting and vacuuming!

Still didn’t catch Cowboy today, even with the chicken, nip and tuna that I put out when I saw the chicken wasn’t working.  That little trap was over-loaded with good smells.

I named the last cat, Cowboy, because of its saddle. I have no idea whether it’s a boy or girl but it’s white with a silver saddle and a Raccoon tail. Probably the prettiest cat out of all of them. Midnight (Charley’s mom), and Cowboy come out about the same time every night at dusk and sometimes I sing to them. That’s about the only time they don’t seem so afraid of me and run off.

One of my favorite songs is “Ride Em’ Cowboy”.  One verse starts out… “Midnight was a champion, he’s the only bronc that I couldn’t ride”.  Some of you oldies may know it – Paul Davis wrote it and recorded it in ’73 and Juice Newton later recorded it in the 80’s (my favorite version).  Funny thing is, I didn’t even realize it had both of their names until I started singing it one night. Since it’s always been one of my favorite songs, it’s the song I usually sing to them.

I’m wondering if part of the problem is the cold weather so the food is “refrigerated”, and they can’t smell it.  It was warmer when I caught all the other cats. I’m not sure; I’ll just keep trying. It’s supposed to be above 60 both Thursday and Friday so I’ll try again.
