DID I ADOPT A POSSUM?

This is so wrong!  I have a heated cat bed in my garage for my two garage cats. It’s like a little cave, on styrofoam, an old dog bed, blanketed, etc., to keep any extra cold air out.

I noticed the cats haven’t been sleeping in it so I thought maybe it was too warm.  I unplugged it the other day but they still aren’t sleeping in it.  Now I know why!

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

As you can see, Nolan is working hard trying to find a fur-ever home.  And this dog is sweet, sweet, sweet.   He gives his belly to everyone.  Even other dogs, some of which were annoying.

I know I haven’t written for a while.  Lots of projects going on.

Quick update for those who don’t know:  I had to put Jelly Bean to sleep July 1st after she was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.  We fought the hard fight for 4 ½ days but the medicine that regulated her heart, made her kidney levels skyrocket and start to fail.  She was only 3 ½.  I had to take her to a specialist in Franklin and leave her.

I’m grateful that I did get to spend an hour and a half with her and as horrible as she felt, she was purring and kneading.

Brolio’s diabetes came back with a vengeance.  His glucose count was over 600.  But as of  Friday, we have it down below normal (100) and I’m able to start backing off his insulin.  I’m hoping he will go in remission again with the proper diet.

Georgie has Hyperactive Thyroidism.  She is doing well, just needs 2 pills a day.  It’s always so much fun to give kitty cats medicine.  I’ll take her back in a few weeks to check her again.

Hope you all have a great day!

WAS THERE ANY DOUBT?

I named him Elmer Jase. I thought Elmer was cute so I kept it and the Jase is after my nephew, Jason.

The first few days were absolutely crazy.  Jazz wanted to beat him up, Stinky & Melinda wanted to hump him and Honey Kae was afraid of him.

He wasn't even interested in the cats.  He will chase them now a little if they are running but all I have to do is say his name and he stops.

Still working on potty training but I think he's starting to catch on.  Just have to make sure he goes out often. The intake sheet at the shelter said 2 yrs.  My vet said 9 months to a year.  I have to agree with my vet.

He really reminds me of a mini Mac, even in his personality.  Just what the doctor ordered.  Miss that boy!

I'M IN TROUBLE

I've intentionally been staying away from the shelter because I saw this dog come in, and I could tell by the picture I would be. He kind of looks like Mac but is only about 30-35 lbs.  They named him Elmer Fudd.

He was at Petsmart adoption day yesterday and I fell in love. I’m trying to be strong.  He is such a sweetie.  Loves babies, kids, all people and all other dogs. His tail didn’t stop wagging and he is a good walker. I took him over by the cats and held him up and he didn’t seem interested but I’m not sure if that would change if he saw them running around and jumping on things.  He did have a bunny in his mouth when they finally caught him, hence the name.  But Stinky would catch rabbits, squirrels and anything else that moves, even turtles.

I surely don’t understand people.  How could anyone let this cute little guy go.
